A good call by our Ride Secretary on Friday to opt for a ‘safety ride’ on the B4040 rather than risk icy patches on the back roads.
9 riders split into 2 groups for a very steady spin down the B4040 through Charlton, Minety to Cricklade before heading north to the Spine Road. Refreshments were at the Dragonfly Cafe at Lower Moor Nature Reserve. It was not a day to be sitting outside so we snuggled tightly in the cosy cafe alongside other cyclists, walkers and nature lovers.
No otters were spotted today, instead swans were doing their best to break the ice for a paddle. The Espresso group then headed for Cherington via Oaksey and Culkerton before heading south to Tetbury and home. But not before another practical demonstration of the superiority of the full sized frame pump by last weeks hero Pumpy McPumpface. (Those of you groaning at this point are vey welcome to write up next weeks ride report!)
