Marshfield and the Sweetapples Cafe was todays destination for two groups and so many riders that I lost count (circa16!).
Early arrivals were able to admire the new bike park facility outside the town hall.
The Espresso Group formed a tidy 4 x 2 formation (that’s 2 abreast not 4…) and singling out smoothly when required.
Yet another fab route by our esteemed Ride Secretary. Fosse Way, Grittleton, The Gibb, Castle Combe and then Ford. Our tidy formation then went to pieces as a few of us were caught out by The Dene - a lengthy climb to Thickwood and Colerne. We turned north via Ashwicke and then arrived at Swwetapples where the Cappuccino Group was sat outside! Spring must be here. Local resident and MCC member Eddie was there to greet us
The most popular cake purchased was called Trevor. Ask the Ride Sec for more details.
After creating the superb routes we paid Mr C back by dropping him off the back of our group. Although I can assure him that this was not intentional but probably caused by those at the front wishing to push on and get back to watch the rugby. There was also a certain amount of shuffling of the two groups after we left Sweetapples. We’d better sort out this poor behaviour promptly!
